Sick of the balancing act, I left my work dreaming (read: hallucinating) that I’d become Supermom. Instead, I found myself knee-deep in toys, toddler meltdowns, and wondering what on earth happened to me.
I’m a mum to a very energetic 3-year-old girl and currently going through a bit of an identity crisis (okay, maybe more than a bit). And honestly? I’m kind of mad at how parenthood is made to look so picture-perfect, when in reality it’s messy, exhausting, and full of moments where you question everything.
We live in a world that tells us we can “have it all,” but conveniently forgets to mention the village it takes to raise a child. Spoiler: I’m still looking for mine.
I’m a feminist who’s gone a little off-script. Some days, it feels like I’m letting down every woman who ever fought for equality – all because I’m not exactly “leaning in.” This blog is my humble attempt to share the real journey – the good, the bad, and the just plain ridiculous – and hopefully build a community where we all feel a little more seen.
So if you’re a parent (or just curious) and tired of the sugarcoated version of motherhood/parenthood, welcome. You’re not alone – and you definitely don’t have to pretend you’ve got it all together here.
Grab your lukewarm coffee, hide from your child in the bathroom for five minutes, and let’s get real.
Lots of love (and dry shampoo),
Rashi x
